The Technology Advantage

We invest in construction technology so you don't absorb the cost of inefficiency. Every project benefits from tools and processes that keep schedules tight and quality high.

Built Smarter. Delivered Faster.

Most subcontractors show up with tape measures and hope. The Edge shows up with rotary lasers, pre-built assemblies, Procore running from day one, and a field crew that knows how to use all of it — before the first stud goes in the ground.

Over 30 years of Chicago-area commercial construction taught us one thing: the jobs that go wrong don't go wrong at the end. They go wrong in the first week — with a misaligned layout, a missed coordination conflict, or a GC who can't get a straight answer on schedule. We built our technology stack specifically to eliminate those failure points.

Procore on Every Job

Scheduling, RFIs, submittals, and daily reports all run through Procore — giving GCs and owners real-time visibility without chasing us down.

Precision Laser Layout

Hilti and Spectrophysics QML800 rotary laser equipment deployed on complex and large-scale projects. Framing alignment accurate to plus or minus three millimeters.

Drywall Shape Prefab Shop

Drywall shapes pre-built in a controlled environment — improving consistency and delivering a 15% productivity advantage in the field.

Project Management on Procore

Every project runs on Procore — revised plans pushed digitally in real time, RFIs tracked, daily logs visible to GCs and owners without a site visit.

Precision Laser Layout

On complex and large-scale projects, we deploy professional-grade rotary laser equipment — including the Hilti and the Spectrophysics QML800. Laser layout ensures that every track, stud, and ceiling grid goes exactly where the drawings say it should, accurate to plus or minus three millimeters across an entire floor plate.

Downstream trades — tile, casework, glass, MEP — all depend on framing being right. When framing is off, everything downstream pays for it. We eliminate that problem on day one.

  • Complex geometry — curves, angles, multi-story alignment
  • Ceiling grid layouts verified before hanging
  • Documented layout as part of project handoff

Drywall Shape Prefabrication Shop

Our drywall shape prefabrication shop is one of the clearest competitive advantages we offer. Drywall shapes and assemblies are pre-built in a controlled shop environment and delivered ready to install — rather than being cut and fitted entirely in the field.

This delivers a 15% productivity improvement, keeps the job site cleaner, and removes variability from the installation process. When quality control happens in the shop — not in the field — it shows in the finished product.

  • Drywall shapes pre-built in a controlled shop environment
  • 15% productivity improvement over field-only methods
  • Shop QC before anything reaches the building
  • Cleaner job sites and faster install sequences

Every Job Runs on Procore

We run every project on Procore — the same platform the best GCs in the country rely on. That means no phone tag, no mystery, and no chasing us down for updates. Scheduling, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and photo documentation all live in one place, updated in real time.

If your team is already on Procore, plugging us in is seamless. If you're not, you still get full visibility through the platform. Either way, decisions are documented, communication is traceable, and surprises stay rare.

  • Real-time schedule and milestone tracking
  • RFI and submittal management with full audit trail
  • Daily field reports and photo documentation
  • Direct GC and owner access — no middleman required

Technology FAQ

Procore gives every party on a project — GC, owner, and trade — access to the same submittals, RFIs, daily logs, and schedule in real time. When everyone is working from the same information, conflicts get resolved before they cause field delays. The Edge adopted Procore company-wide because it eliminates the communication gaps that cause most construction schedule slippage.

Professional-grade rotary laser equipment — including the Hilti and Spectrophysics QML800 — establishes layout control points accurate to plus or minus three millimeters across an entire floor plate — far more precise than snap lines or manual measurement. This level of accuracy is critical for complex ceiling systems, curtain wall backup framing, and multi-floor alignment. It eliminates the rework that comes from framing that is even slightly out of position.

Our drywall shape prefabrication means building drywall shapes and assemblies in our controlled shop environment before they go to the job site. Shop work is faster, cleaner, and more consistent than field work — delivering a 15% productivity improvement. It also reduces job site waste, noise, and crew congestion, which GCs and owners appreciate on tight-schedule projects. Note: drywall panels and header packages on larger projects are sourced from specialty prefab suppliers, not built in-shop.

Our project management platform provides real-time schedule tracking, RFI and submittal management, daily field reports, and issue documentation. GCs have visibility into our progress without having to chase us for updates. Owners get confidence that their schedule commitments are being met. We use the same platform our GC partners prefer — no learning curve, no friction.

Procore runs on every project — no exceptions. Laser layout is deployed on complex and large-scale projects where precision alignment is critical. Prefabrication is used whenever scope, schedule, and logistics allow it to deliver meaningful time savings. Continuous Flow Drywall and the No Coat machine are deployed on applicable finishing scopes. The goal is always the same: fewer surprises, better quality, faster delivery.
